Gear
shaping is a multipoint machining
process for generating teeth by a
reciprocating cutter. Gear shaping
is one of the most versatile of all
gear cutting operations. This
cutting process uses a gear-shaped
cutter that is reciprocated and
rotated, in relationship to a blank,
to produce the gear teeth. Cutters
rotate in timed relationship with
the workpiece. Finally Gear Shaping
produces internal gears, external
gears, and integral gear-pinion
arrangements. |
